The Flower Shop Dance
02:10
|
|||
Theresa is trudging to school
The old route, steady and alone
But she stops outside of Mabel's flower shop -
In the spring sun it's radiant as can be
The rosewood sign seems to invite and she's early so she tiptoes inside. Then she's lost in the aisles so lush. She slowly forgets her life outside.
Because all the flowers start dancing to the rhythms of her mind and it's a pageant of the leaf and steam- a festival of life.
She opens for their message, they're welcoming her presence.
I'm opened up for your message, bid welcome to your presence.

Honey
03:24
|
|||
In the heat my fountain's running dry
No such nourishment for you or I
Young and bereft - no presents left
Honey
But with white curtain pressed against my waist
And a scoundrel's guilt creeping on my face
My fingers wet with honey from that
And if I can't sparkle anymore
A million torments wait in store
No love for me, there's no love for me
Just honey
And if you don't want me - then I don't want me
Hell can have me, harpies reach out grab me by my coat
And I down I go
Into the honey
I went down to the chapel, I was praying for a sign
Brother John, don't lead me on, show me what is mine
Your love is so corruptible, your flesh is indestructible
Knees on the floor which started caving in
A steaming swamp of honey that I started sinking in
Love is so corruptible, but flesh is indestructible
I've really done it this time with glitter in my eyes
Afraid of my grave, afraid of being deprived
Ashamed of myself, ashamed of my time
Poison like honey, as simple as rhyme

I got that vitamin feeling' all in my soul
I'm feeling glittery and jittery and I'm losing control
That vitamin feeling running through my bones
feeling giggly and wiggly like volcanic stone
Hey coyote step off my track,
I know a mean old grizzly and she's on her way back
I say whoa doggies, you're ruining the time
We'll get there real soon but this song is mine
I got that vitamin feeling' all in my soul
I'm feeling glittery and jittery and I'm losing control

A Wild Turkey
02:49
|
|||
Wild turkey frisked at the threshold
Stubborn soul of thistle and fool's gold
Feeling thirsty kneels at a water hole
Public mercy in others a stranglehold
Trim that stubble crisp for the daylight
Hide that banjo and bottle from your mother's eyes
And you don't know me
Cuz I don't make myself known
Wild turkey struts by the window
Got so many feathers watch as I swing low
All you house dogs whining at your masters
Like cradle krill down bowing to your pastors
But all you old bucks stoic, sturdy, and true
I felt so low I had to reject you
Cuz you don't know me
I don't make myself known

As I Go to See the City
03:35
|
|||
As I go to see the city
A light peeps through my cell
Lady in downtown tower so high I can't see her
But to stand at the top of the dell
I wish I were a rainbow
To be a pillar of the scenery
So close I could almost taste it all
Out on the balcony
I had a dream it was true
But as I go to see the city
My pride is welded to an end
The essence of a crowd is to pretend you're not lonely
Mural of faces that call you friend
I wish I were a rainbow
To be a pillar of the scenery
So close I could almost taste it all
Out on the balcony
Visions so true
As I go to see the city

At Goldfish Hotel
03:07
|
|||
In perfect darkness I close my eyes
in a chamber of white
Headspace is tidy, house kept fine
An urbane goldfish with lips so wide
Fluttering in its bowl
Making cool tides, dipping round wild
In perfect darkness he speaks to me
Like a three wing prophet
My reverie, he swims for me

Pollens Sweeter Than
01:41
|
|||
Don't anger me I'll lose my life
I thought out a list of reasons why
So don't bother me or I'll fall and die
My weakness is my wheel and my guide
Don't angry me I'll lose my life
There's sweeter pollens to swallow then pride
And there's honeycomb static
In my orphan, golden mind
And the mark of the hive on my heart
When I think how much these days mean to me

In My Hive
04:31
|
|||
Past the Sillybrook Fields and down a couple slides
Twenty minutes north on lake drive
On the left that's my hive
In my hive
Three square meals for a worker's appetite
Faces smiling and manna from on high
Served each day in my hive
In my hive
Oh Wisconsin, On Wisconsin
To your cornfield breasts I will build my bricks
Hinged on the dreams of a buzzed collective mind
The thieves were wild and the joker's in the sky
Spewing shit in my hive
In my hive
On black scratch discs I carved a chasm wide
This band of horns worshipped in quiet for miles
Noise is song in my hive
In my hive
Oh my queen bee, hail my queen bee
To your vision best I will stack my bricks
Friend and enemy carried with me
To your vision best I will stack these bricks inside of my hive

Love's Fortune Feast
03:41
|
|||
Did you know that in the grove with
the cherubs made of stone and
the bench where you were sitting
while we were pensively dreaming
that you knit me to your beautiful web?
So hold fast my lover as you're holding onto me
And I've never seen another who was braver or so wise
I've watched you struggle but now you're bountiful and wild
Like a tadpole before my eyes
I'm kneeling at the shrine of you
You amongst all I love anew today
Did you know that I get sad when
I see my rainboots from way back
or your tomorrow-spanning skyrise
under the banner of amorous skies?
Shedding blood and skin for the beautiful web
So hold fast my brother as you're holding onto me
And I've never seen another who was braver or so wise
I've watched you struggle but now you're bountiful and wild
Like a tadpole before my eyes
So I call to you in my distress
Banish this beast, give us rest
There's mastery sown in the fibers of our hide
Thank you fortune feast of matter and time

Come Back to Me Now
04:22
|
|||
You can let your guard down, the coast is clear
I've been waiting, waiting on your sunrise
And to see morning in my lover's eyes
Come back to me now
A second chance is here for your taking
Babe I won't let you down
Just come back to me now
And when I count the days down, the days we've left
There's just no time, no time for us to resist this
Let's both heal each other with a phoenix kiss
Come back to me now
A second chance is here for your taking
Babe I won't let you down
Just come back to me now
Would you come meet me tonight?
Would you take me as I am-
blistery, childlike, and comical...
but always yours.
Would you come meet me tonight?
Would you tame the squalor of vicious winds outside my house?
Come meet me tonight.
Come back to me now
A second chance is here for your taking
Babe I won't let you down
Just come back to me now

The Haunted Fiddle
03:28
|
|||
Corner of town at the general store
Upstairs there's bewitching
A tune above the floor
On a dusty barrel at dusk so gray
The haunted fiddle crucifies the day
Life is a lonely night
And a million aching things can be heard
In the desert of bedroom no light
Will quench my child's thirst
No no no
Sons of the house are long gone still
The daughters married off
And the sheepdog ill
The dirge begins as the night sets in
And that old haunted fiddle never yields
Life is a lonely night
And a million aching things can be heard
In the desert of bedroom no light
Will quench my child's thirst
No no no
No pause, no cause to ever slow down
This world wasn't made for loving anyhow
And that burning tobacco you can smell a million things
Better days, jaded rings, or just fire in the trees
Oh, they're burning now and they cry
Life is a lonely night
And a million aching things can be heard
In the desert of bedroom no light
Can quench my child's thirst
Don't quench this thirst

Sound of Music
07:15
|
|||
I can't create with an unsatisfied mind
The bunnies eat my cabbage in the grass outside
My life is slowly changing away from Charlie Brown
These days we're slowly changing away from Charlie Brown
All that's red and green and splendid surely will drown
